We are Shannon and Chris, two minimalist nomads who love to travel. One of the beautiful things about travel is that the memory of the moment, all of the emotion that is wrapped up in a new experience lives on in your mind.
We often say that we are 'collecting memories'. We have always kept reminders of our travels around the house - a rock from a hike in New Zealand, a coaster from a bar in Hawaii, some shells from the Gilli Islands - and being such lovers of travel, we of course love maps.
Coming from New Zealand, we have always had topographical maps around the house to help with planning hiking trips (Shannon being a fully fledged map geek). Even now, living in Australia, we will often pin maps to the wall and spend hours scouring the them for new places to travel. Unfortunately the maps are usually tattered, they rip easily, and don't last long.
We thought, wouldn't it be nice if you could wrap the beauty and uniqueness of a map, and the memory of a place, into something that looks stunning?
We founded Custom Prints to give people a meaningful way to share memories and moments. There are so many times when a special moment is wrapped into a location, it might be where you bought your first home, where you got married, your childhood home, or your favourite holiday spot, or the night sky when you got engaged. Our Custom Prints maps immortilise this in a beautiful print that makes for a meaningful, unique gift.

What's on our walls? Three custom A3 black and white prints of the three major cities we have lived in - Dunedin, Auckland, and Brisbane. Each city has it's own shape, it's own character, and we made so many memories in each. This was the gift that Chris gave Shannon that sparked the whole idea of Custom Prints. Now we are so excited to share this with everyone.
